Stem Clubs and Tutoring
I’m Ben Maki.
I’ve been teaching math and science for almost twenty years in the classroom and at outdoor education camps.
I’ve always believed the best way to learn a subject is to get in there and just use it. So that’s what we’re going to do.
Tutoring
Sometimes it helps to have a little focused attention. I am available for private and small group tutoring sessions. Bring me your troubles and we’ll work through them together. I specialize in math and science, but also learning. That means I can help with almost any topic (I just might be learning along with you).
I can also provide Focused Tutoring for those who are looking for more intentional instruction. Need a teacher? Not just someone to help, but to actually teach the class?
Whatever you need, I got you.

Virtual Study Hall
This is a open-ended virtual study session intended for home schooling students who tend to work better when they are in a group. Students join the virtual session, then work on their own studies. If they need any help with their classwork or if they just need to be redirected back to their work, I’m there to provide support.
Students get a sense of community, some help staying focused and getting questions answered, and parents get a little bit of a break.
Math and Stem Clubs
We meet afterschool (or during the day for homeschoolers) and spend time learning a variety of STEM topics:
- Math concepts, puzzles & strategies
- Engineering
- Electronics
- Robotics
- Coding
Clubs happen throughout the year. Let me know you. Join the mail list below to keep updated when the next one starts.
